Khalsa is a small, Montessori private and charter school located in downtown Phoenix that serves children from the Toddler level to Upper Elementary. Khalsa is a long-standing education provider in Phoenix and is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary! We value diversity and offer a safe place for all children and adults to grow. Khalsa Montessori School seeks individuals interested in working as a Toddler classroom assistant.
This Toddler classroom assistant position is part time, Monday- Friday, 8:00am-1:00pm, in a Montessori classroom. An assistant teacher is responsible for safety protocols (cleaning), monitoring the classroom, ensuring appropriate follow-through of the teacher's direction or student's choice of appropriate behavior, maintaining educational materials and keeping the class environment attractive for the students. Other duties include but are not limited to snack preparation, monitoring children during classroom time, playground time, and nap.
For all applicants, a minimum of one year of experience with young children is essential. We are looking for individuals with maturity, high integrity, open mindedness, flexibility, dedication to the well-being of the children, willingness to be a team player, and a "beginner’s mindset".
Applicants must be reliable, trustworthy, physically healthy, free of chemical addictions (non-smoking), have a DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and negative Tb certification.
